Background to the competition

Innovate UK, the Research Councils UK (RCUK) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of the People’s Republic of China are investing up to £16 million (c.RMB154 million) in a Newton Fund Research and Innovation Bridges (R&I Bridges) to support translational collaborative industrial R&D projects to stimulate new innovation and solutions to the societal challenges that China is facing within the four areas of Agri-food, Energy, Healthcare and Urbanisation.

Partnering Workshops in China

To help Chinese and UK organisations interested in this competition to meet and develop collaborative partnerships, an inward delegation comprising 17 UK orginisations will be visiting the Jiangsu and Guangzhou Provinces during the week of 18th-22nd January 2016. This visit will focus on the healthcare and urbanisation sectors.

Representatives of Chinese organisations (business, university and research organisations) are invited to register their interest in attending the workshops to learn about the innovation and discuss collaboration opportunities with the visiting UK delegates.

How to Register

The workshops will be talking place on:

  • Monday 18th January - Nanjing
  • Tuesday 19th January - Wuxi
  • Thursday 21st January - Guangzhou
